Join us on Thursday, March 19, at 6:00 pm for the next IP2030 Community Conversation at the PSU Technology Center, 909 East Ford Street – Room S102! This time the topic will be child care – specifically infant and toddler care. Speakers: IP2030 Economic Development Co-Chair Blake Benson Mayor Dawn McNay Representative Monica Murnan Needs: We’ll set the stage by covering the need for an expanded child care capacity. Unless they have small children, most in our community are probably unaware of the need. Challenges: Unfortunately, the solution isn’t as simple as just adding on building space. We will also cover the finances related to child care along with the state’s requirements associated with how many infants and toddlers you can have per instructor. Opportunities: Finally, attendees will learn about the different models of child care, including in-home and in-business child care. The latter isn’t currently available in Pittsburg but should be explored as it could be a part of the solution. Find us on Facebook to RSVP and share this event with your friends! EVENT:
